After graduating from Old Dominion University in International Affairs and Conflict Resolution, Hiwa went on to launch his career in the Federal Government space working with Carahsoft Technology Corp. where he dealt with procurement and federal IT sales. In this role he expanded and refined his skillset to include contracting, client relations and government acquisitions, before making the transition over to real estate. With high attention to detail and a caring concern for his clients, Hiwa is dedicated to protecting his clients and exceeding their expectations.
Hiwa migrated to the United States in the 90s to find refuge from war-torn Northern Iraq. He settled in Arlington, VA in 1997 and has been a proud local ever since. His decision to move into the real estate sector stems from his interest in helping others and making a positive impact on his community.
Due to his background as a refugee, Hiwa believes firmly in giving back: in May 2017 he organized a fundraiser to deliver emergency aid to various refugee camps in Iraq during the ISIS crisis.
A percentage of Hiwa’s proceeds from his real estate transactions will be donated to the post-ISIS Internally Displaced Peoples of the Middle East.
