Ask The Real Estate Agent: Should You Renovate Before Selling Your Home?

by Dan Lesniak

Recently, we have been getting questions from sellers asking should you renovate before selling your home?

This is a challenging question because it’s different for everybody — in the video above, Orange Line Living Founder, Dan Lesniak explains an approach you should take when considering should you renovate before selling your home? There are 3 basic levels of renovation work to think about when getting started.

The first option is selling your property “as is” in its current condition, which means no renovation work is needed. The second option is doing minor work to freshen up your home. This would involve task like: painting and doing some yard work to boost the curb appeal. The third option is doing the maximum level of renovation, which could include new floors, lighting, fixtures, and much more.

The best way to figure out which option to consider is to evaluate what price your home will sell for after each level of work.

Here at the Orange Line Living team, we have a lot of experience helping our clients make theses decisions. Feel free to contact us at [email protected] or 571-969-7653 if you have any questions, comments or concerns.
