Life along the Orange Line includes great celebrations, many of which focus on our different cultural heritages. May 5th marks Cinco de Mayo, when Mexico pushed back French armed forces at the battle of Puebla on May 5th, 1862. The battle may have long been won, but the celebration continues to this day with annual parties and celebrations across the world. Here in the DC area, the biggest and best can be found at Don Tito.
Located on Wilson Blvd, Don Tito has the biggest Mexican taco and tequila bar in Arlington, and they have become the place to be to celebrate Cinco de Mayo. The doors open at 2:00 and plenty of fun awaits. Not only can you enjoy some tasty Mexican cuisine, there will be great deals going on through the celebration. Enjoy some tequila shots, beer, tacos, and more. Cervezas and Sombreros will be on hand on all three floors of Don Ito, the space of this great Arlington treasure makes for celebrating that much better. This Cinco de Mayo celebration is popular enough that you will want to arrive early as the space fills up fast. This is especially so for this year with the big day being on a Thursday, no doubt there will be many who are ready to start the weekend early.
If you plan to celebrate Cinco de Mayo this year, we hope you have a great time whatever you choose to do. Be safe and responsible and have a great time.
