Spring is in the air, and that heralds one thing home owners look forward to each year along the Orange Line. If you have ideas or plans for your home or garden, you won’t want to miss the annual Arlington Home Show & Garden Expo coming up April 9th at the Thomas Jefferson Community Center. This year marks the 10th year of this show which helps you learn the latest in home remodeling, updating, and so much more. From workshops to free classes, vendor booths and experts on site, be sure to visit the expo before you begin your next home or garden project.
This year you can visit with representatives from more than 75 architects, Arlington County housing, banks, contractors, home builders, inspectors, landscape designers, master gardeners, non-profit organizations, realtors, and specialty vendors. With free classes, you can learn the latest in remodeling trends and products, the best ways to replace doors, floors and windows, finish your basement or attic, add or upgrade a security system, and the latest innovations for a garden paradise. Are you ready to make green improvements to your home? The Home Show will have information for you on the variety of ways you can make your property eco-friendly. Want to have a Smart Home? You can learn how at one of the many workshops available.
There will also be experts on hand throughout the day so you can ask them directly what you need to know. Find 
out what permits you need, or what the latest technologies are available to provide a comfortable, secure home while saving money on utilities. A new addition to this year’s expo is a bigger landscape design area with more outdoor living exhibition booths as well as more interior decorator booths. You can also buy original art from local artists who will be on site. You can even bring in a favorite antique or piece of jewelry for a free appraisal.
The Arlington Home Show & Garden Expo runs from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm, and you will want to plan the whole day there with all the classes and exhibitions that will be running throughout the event. Be sure to check out the class and workshop schedule so you can plan your time to get the most out of the day. There will be three rooms with ongoing classes. Some classes include “Choosing the Right Contractor & 7 Remodeling Mistakes to Avoid”, “How to Replace 
a Lawn with a Garden”, and “Understanding Condominium Living and Green Remodeling for Your Kitchen & Bath”. There will even be a class for owners looking to rent our property, or learn the laws before you get a tenant. At the Main Stage, you can join in the Appraisal Road Show and one of two Home Owner seminars.
