Dine Out in Arlington: It’s Restaurant Week

by Dan Lesniak

meal-932966_640All this week through Monday, March 14th, you can dine out across Arlington and along the Orange Line in style. It is time once again for the Northern Virginia Restaurant Week, and this means you can eat well for less. Restaurant Weeks have been gaining more popularity over the last several years, and it is easy to see why. Diners can get great deals on special menus which highlight a restaurant’s specialties. You can experience top-of-the-line culinary delights at a special discounted cost, so you can also enjoy more all week long. Restaurant Weeks are a big boon to local businesses beyond the participating establishments. Bringing in more visitors and getting more residents out for a meal brings in revenue for local transportation services, hospitality and hotels and retail shops, just to name a few who benefit from these Chamber of Commerce-sponsored events.

Northern Virginia Restaurant Week is a great chance to support the local businesses within Arlington, Loudoun, Prince William and Reston. This restaurant week works a bit differently than some others such as the one in Washington D.C. Typically participating restaurants will offer lunch and dinner menus at a specifically set discounted price. With this week’s deals, each establishment can set their own sale price, but it has to end with 16 cents, giving a nod to 2016.

You can enjoy a quick bite at a casual pub or make it a full evening with a fine dinner at one of Arlington’s specialty restaurant-922878_640restaurants. Many of the restaurants are offering both lunch and dinner specials, some include dessert. The website for Restaurant Week has all the special menus listed so you can plan in advance what you want to eat throughout the week. There is also a mouthwatering gallery of food photos to inspire.
