How about a ride from Rosslyn to Georgetown in a Sky-High Gondola?

by Dan Lesniak

Georgetown’s new 2028 Action Plan sets forth a wide array of plans to make revitalize the old DC neighborhood into a more modern, visitor friendly area. The already popular neighborhood has suffered in recent years because time has caught up with some of the older non-historic buildings. Georgetown’s Business Improvement District has plans to make it so that visitors from Northern Virginia can launch a full scale invasion on Georgetown by foot or by car or:

By Train – A new trolley system through Georgetown along the waterfrontScreen Shot 2014-01-30 at 5.16.36 PM.png

By Boat – The C & O Canal will be restored and improved to allow for a bargeScreen Shot 2014-01-30 at 5.13.36 PM.png

By Air – The Georgetown BID has secured 65% of the funding necessary and is requesting Arlington County and D.C. to fund a feasibility study for Gondolas across the potomac from Rosslyn Metro Station to Georgetown!

With plans like these in the works what do you think this means for the real estate market along the Orange Line over the next 20 years? Let us know in the comments below! We’ll randomly select a commenter for a prize next week!
