Arlington Home to Top Public Elementary Schools in Virginia

If there is any lingering doubt as to how the area is great for families with school aged kids, you can let those worries fade away. Niche.com, a website dedicated to gathering opinions and reviews from parents, students and school staff about individual schools across the country, has just released their state by state public elementary schools top 100 lists. For Virginia, Arlington is home to 10 of the top ranked schools.

Within their release of the top ranked elementary schools, Niche.com notes that a high ranked school shows exceptional academics alongside a diverse group of high achievement students and teachers. Students themselves are reported as being very happy with their school experience. The rankings are done to help families choose the best school for their children, whether you are already living in an area, or planning to move, the information provided is there to assist you with making an informed decision. Ten main categories are reviewed, from education outcomes to food quality, extracurricular activities, Teachers and more, the opinions of students, staff and parents are weighed with local area experts and actual statistics to create an overall rank for each school.

The Arlington Schools that were ranked at the top for Virginia are in ranked order: Arlington Science Focus Elementary, Arlington Traditional Elementary, Ashlawn Elementary, Long Branch Elementary, Nottingham Elementary, Henry Elementary, Taylor Elementary, Jamestown Elementary, McKinley Elementary and Tuckahoe Elementary School. Seven of these schools are located within the metro area of Arlington. The top ranked school, Arlington Science Elementary is near by the Ballston Metro and number two ranked Arlington Traditional is close to the Clarendon Station.

Of the topics in which schools were ranked, Arlington’s Public School district with 35 schools was ranked number one in the state, with an A+ rating in Administration & Policies, Educational Outcome, Resources & Facilities, Student Culture & Diversity and Teachers.
