Rosslyn is the Orange Line Living neighborhood to be this coming summer. Several recurring events and activities are on the horizon, beginning in May through September. Residents and visitors alike will be able to enjoy time outside this summer with a variety of options to choose from. With all the development changes coming to Rosslyn of late, this summer’s events will help showcase Rosslyn as the place to be.
To keep yourself limber and fit during the busy summer season, you will be able to join free exercise sessions at Gateway Park on Wednesdays. These sessions will be hosted by Lava Barre dance studio each week from 6:30-7:30. While there is no charge, you will need to register for the classes, which will cover a variety of exercising styles including ballet, pilates, and yoga. Bring yourself a bottle of water and exercise mat to the park and you will be ready to go.
Beginning May 13th, N. Oak Street will be the place to go on Thursday afternoons for good food and great music. The Rosslyn Farmer’s Market & Lunchtime Concert Series is returning this summer. You can spend some time from 11:00-3:00 shopping through market booths of fresh, local produce, baked goods, and local artisan crafts. You can also enjoy a different musical performance each week, held in front of Kanpai Sushi and Allspice Catering & Café.
Summer wouldn’t be summer without outdoor movies. The Rosslyn Business Improvement District has announced the Rosslyn Summer Film Festival will be run on Friday nights beginning May 30th through August 22nd. The movies will have an “office” theme to them, offering fun and family entertainment throughout the season.
