Orange Line Madness: The Townhome Region

Today we release the final region in our Orange Line Madness Tournament. The seedings were based on input from top Arlington VA real estate agents and were made up of the Clarendon and Courthouse Region Rosslyn RegionVirginia Square and Ballston Region and the Townhome Region, which were are releasing today. Over the next few weeks we will take more input from our pool of top Arlington VA real estate agents to see which Orange Line townhome or condo will come out on top!

The Townhome Region

16:  The Berkeley Square townhomes are an 11 home project located near the border of Clarendon and Lyon Park on 9th Road. These townhomes are three levels and have assigned parking and attached garages for some. While they were built in 1997 many of already been updated.

15:  The Palisades Park townhomes are located on Scott Street, 22nd Street, Oak Street, Oak Court and Pierce Street, just north of Lee Highway in Rosslyn. These brick townhomes come with one and two car garages. The 133 units were constructed in 1995 and many offer views of Georgetown across the river.

14:  The Lynnbrook townhomes are made up of 32 homes located between 13th and 14th streets just west of Kirkwood. The location is perfect for getting to Clarendon or Virginia Square.These 3 level brick townhomes are spacious and many have been updated.

13:  The Bromptons at Ballston townhomes are a 31 unit community designed by Ed Peeter. These 4 level townhomes are located on 11th Street and Stafford. These luxurious homes were builtin in 1997 and are only a few blocks north of the Ballston metro.

12:  Built in 1996 by EYA, the 69 townhomes that make up Courthouse Hill offer a great location on Barton St and 13th Court, just a few blocks south of the Courthouse metro. Many of these 4 level townhomes have been updated. All of the units contain rear loading garages and range in size from 1,600 square feet to 2,100 square feet.

11:  The 13 homes at the Courts of Lyon Village make up one of the newest townhome communities on the Orange Line. These brick and stone homes are located at the corner of Veitch Street and Lee Highway. The front loading 2 car garages give these homes a detached home feel in terms of size and the finishes are very luxurious.

10:  The Vista on Courthouse was built in 2008 and has 39 townhomes. The spacious floorplans have two garage parking spots and are finished with high end luxurious finishes. These homes are located at 2220 12th Court and are just down the hill from the Courthouse metro.

9:   The Bromptons at Courthouse was built by Ed Peete around the same time as the Bromptons at Rosslyn. The 37 townhomes here have 3 to 4 bedrroms and 2 car garages. The location, at the intersection of 16th Street and Rhodes Street is right between the Courthouse and Rosslyn metro stops.

8:  Ed Peete built the Bromptons at Rosslyn townhomes in 2002. Located at at the intersection of Clarendon Blvd and Quinn Street. These larege townhomes are 4 or 5 levels and range in square footage from 2,600 to 3,000. The 17 brick homes have a very contemporary and luxurious feel.

7:  Ballston Row and Buckhingham Commons are a group of townhomes that started develompent in 2011  on George Mason Drive, 4th Street and Henderson Road roughly a half mile west of the Ballston Metro. Homes there come with 2 car rear loading garages and most have rooftop decks as well. As of now, construction is still on going although homes are selling fast.

6:  The Ballston Green townhomes were built in 2013 and 2014 by Madison homes. These 28 townhomes have 4 levels with 3 to 4 bedrooms and 2 car garages. The homes were finished with luxurious finished and located just on the other side of Glebe road from the Ballston metro off Wilson Boulevard.

5:  The Highgate townhomes were built in 1993 along Colonial Terrace, Colonial Court and key Boulevard. There are roughly 100 brick homes each with either a 1 or 2 car front loading garage. The homes offer living spaces on four levels and outdoor space as well. The location is just a five minute walk to the Rosslyn metro and is perfect from accessing the Orange and Blue lines and Georgetown.

4:  The 18 luxurious tonwhomes at Monument Place are located on Meade street. Sitting behind Iwa Jim Memorial they offer some of the best views of DC you can find. The 2 car garage townhomes have rooftop decks and elevators. EYA built this community in 2000 and the luxury finishes, location and size make them extremely unique.

3:  Clarendon 3131, although primarily a boutique condo building, has two townhome style condos. These luxurious units were built in 2010 and feature 4 bedrooms on four levels of living spaces, a 2 car garage and a large outdoor terrace. The location is perfect for enjoying the proximity to Clarendon, but the quietness of Lyon Park.

2:  The Bromptons at Clarendon were built by Ed Peete in 2000 and are made up of 38 townhomes and semi-detached homes along Jackson and Johnson Street. The homes are located on the edge of Lyon Village, just a few blocks from the Clarendon Metro.

1:  The Clarendon Park townhomes are another successful project by EYA. Built in 2002 on Danville and 11th street, the 89 homes here are located in one right in the middle of Clarendon behind the Market Commons. The homes feature living spaces on 4 levels, 1 or 2 car rear loading garages and 3 bedrooms. Many of them have rooftop decks and several look out onto a park.
