Most home seekers begin their search well before they meet with a real estate agent. The internet has made it possible for prospective buyers to comb through the MLS and see what is listed on the market. But did you know that there is a huge inventory of off-the-market real estate deals? housing that only realtors can access? Some of these listings are called Pocket listings. In today’s high-demand, low-inventory real estate market pocket listings, or whisper listings, are becoming more and more common. That means unless you’re working with an experienced and connected agent you could be missing out on the home of your dreams.

Pocket listings are great for buyers and sellers. In a pocket listing the property is not listed in the MLS, online, or in newspapers – they are marketed purely by word of mouth. They allow sellers to test the market without commitment of actually listing on the open market. The sellers still get offers from potential buyers but don’t have to worry about open houses and disruptive viewings.
